I’ve gotten out of the habit of taking 30 minutes to knit each morning. That needs to change. Just did my calendar for the week and wrote it in daily. I think I knit maybe 2 days this week. The good news is, I finished the Morning Coffee Socks. This also allowed me to mark off the last square on my BINGO board. Just in time for Bingo Board #2. Below is a picture of all the socks I’ve knit since June 1st.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEidlyzUiSbyQCflwKg5VyWDJaUWwbFk3JKw4RGvlK7JtZPnPb3ks67RNfmiwxSMFxY1k2tcbp3nfxJ8VnlXDy-_qcrfsJ1QjJO9aeruRFM4lLOsd1pr_g81TKXQM4ZwJZcrhDQDzcbMjmohqOAQiQV9s6D7cod87O7YE21gnfLorXU3ZXwhKBF1C5DXhQ=s2048" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEidlyzUiSbyQCflwKg5VyWDJaUWwbFk3JKw4RGvlK7JtZPnPb3ks67RNfmiwxSMFxY1k2tcbp3nfxJ8VnlXDy-_qcrfsJ1QjJO9aeruRFM4lLOsd1pr_g81TKXQM4ZwJZcrhDQDzcbMjmohqOAQiQV9s6D7cod87O7YE21gnfLorXU3ZXwhKBF1C5DXhQ=s320" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhLw0RU1Hja5fCc3V_MacBJ4dQbqKeG6lD_1HaVDKMLN3IUPuq3q7U5XnTMtkhbQjYzwTem0MavqwkKOOwHkza16GkIHWeU06pG9OQAg5-OP2bmxijFOpW5bIK00lK-Q21HL9sYiNRb-L2UfwdRArlRxJyW_VOcTfXyf-uVVFDnvGD2hCPfISXnxJcYCw=s2048" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhLw0RU1Hja5fCc3V_MacBJ4dQbqKeG6lD_1HaVDKMLN3IUPuq3q7U5XnTMtkhbQjYzwTem0MavqwkKOOwHkza16GkIHWeU06pG9OQAg5-OP2bmxijFOpW5bIK00lK-Q21HL9sYiNRb-L2UfwdRArlRxJyW_VOcTfXyf-uVVFDnvGD2hCPfISXnxJcYCw=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">That’s about it for picture worthy knitting. My poor gnome has not even been touched this week. I added a few rows to my mom’s socks and a few rows to my sweater. About two years ago I won some beautiful yarn and a shawl pattern from a LYS. I started the pattern right away, got about 15 rows in and it’s been sitting ever since. Love the yarn and the shawl pattern is beautiful, but it’s just not the right pattern for me right now. So I frogged it and started playing around. I’m thinking of making a Find Your Fade Shawl. Anyone want to weigh in on the options below?</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjQ3uS15_1NpkWUVbMt3SaTRM-RTTljAT-qCs3fPOB-xiv6FAIlwikdfnRwja4aokx9zv9zxe4jph6acEilH28tLLgzhvFkau5za1oPttZ8wIHKmyVjc9NPNhcXzLvtr2bjsKEogAplvLlN_aZOftaqfZYt6HRb2cxyZr_2Z85lM2zuUWk5D16grQpPDQ=s2048" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjQ3uS15_1NpkWUVbMt3SaTRM-RTTljAT-qCs3fPOB-xiv6FAIlwikdfnRwja4aokx9zv9zxe4jph6acEilH28tLLgzhvFkau5za1oPttZ8wIHKmyVjc9NPNhcXzLvtr2bjsKEogAplvLlN_aZOftaqfZYt6HRb2cxyZr_2Z85lM2zuUWk5D16grQpPDQ=s320" width="240" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhm3qfSV_XnAl6WJXQ-c38derCL4ogULE1znuW1Od3Rb9ch-M5QSH4Q5wprJoN7IQdKPihJJwhoXqwBlg6PGnZVJTGrh2QGkOIfntgAS2Hvf8WnhyOazQqwpyD7KLv6i40E7877Om7AXU3xVD8rrFo_6MJjK6lHlpuhBhA_xCiuXa6L3RS-Ds6fSyFKiA=s2048" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhm3qfSV_XnAl6WJXQ-c38derCL4ogULE1znuW1Od3Rb9ch-M5QSH4Q5wprJoN7IQdKPihJJwhoXqwBlg6PGnZVJTGrh2QGkOIfntgAS2Hvf8WnhyOazQqwpyD7KLv6i40E7877Om7AXU3xVD8rrFo_6MJjK6lHlpuhBhA_xCiuXa6L3RS-Ds6fSyFKiA=s320" width="240" /></a> </p>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-19134404858218578662021-10-10T08:28:00.004-07:002021-10-10T08:29:15.515-07:00Progress! Somehow with the start of school (homeschooling), searching for a new job, and all the other stuff going on, I missed a month of posting. Sometimes I just don’t know where the time goes. All month, I’d think about writing my post, and then Sunday would roll around and I wouldn’t get to it. My knitting has also been slacking. I need to get better at this. Sock Camp officially ends the 31st, but I have finished all I am going to finish at this point. It was a very successful camp. I knit 5 pairs of socks for camp (June 1st - August 31st). What a great experience! I have not knit so much in a long time. I also tried new methods of sock knitting: cuff down, and socks on 9 inch circulars. I am beyond pleased with what I was able to accomplish this summer.</p><p><br /></p><p>I finished my last pair, the Bomb Pop Socks, yesterday. </p><p><br /></p><p>Now that Sock Camp is over I need some new goals for the next few months.</p><p>Here’s what that looks like:</p><p>1. Weekender Sweater (WIP/UFO) <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-weekender-5">https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-weekender-5</a></p><p>2. Gray Sweater (UFO)</p><p>3. Finish pink socks (heel on second sock)</p><p>4. Finish neon socks (knit second, heel on both)</p><p>5. Finish Morning coffee socks <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morning-coffee-socks">https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morning-coffee-socks</a></p><p>6. Mom socks for Christmas</p><p>7. Gnome dishcloth holders <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gnome-towel-topper">https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gnome-towel-topper</a></p><p><br /></p><p>I didn’t get a lot of knitting done last week between interviewing, paperwork, and our staycation. But we did get to visit a really cool park and get some swim time in. :) I just finished photographing my socks for camp and getting project details uploaded (I need to get better about creating projects in Ravelry as soon as I start the project.). Looking forward to getting started on some new projects soon!</p><p><br /></p>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-7683386260025261812021-08-22T09:14:00.004-07:002021-08-22T09:14:42.876-07:00A Year of Projects 8/52<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /></div> **Theres no week 7/52 post as I needed a computer break.<p></p><p><br /></p><p>Back for week 8 with…you guessed it: socks! Needed to take a bit of a computer/social media break last week. Spent some time updating my resume, and interviewing. My current job is up in the air right now, so I’m trying to prepare for when it ends. </p><p><br /></p><p></p><p>Stripey socks are almost finished! I need to Kitchener the toe and weave in ends on sock number 2. They’ll be finished this evening. That leaves me with my Bomb Pop socks and Morning Coffee. Summer Sock Camp ends the 31st. Im still going to try and finish both, but I’m not sure I’ll get the Morning Coffee socks done. But I’m fine with that. I’ve knit more this summer than I have in quite some time. After that, I’ll be finishing up the socks I started before camp and moving on to a sweater or two. Working on my Fall Knitting Goals now. </p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4KKeEk7LBG4xPhQDwBHa7uW606TxoY_SypY4kGRkk1vr25auY4lOxKDL3bfdsXzk8s2QBFC_9xU6jEwGRmxTNGdImJdhJcLSkS-jhLywEyM1IU_9uBfo8eBOkEBwH9E3sG61S-tjDh2A/s2048/F143E6F6-03FF-4672-8B5C-65188C3A7041.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1778" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4KKeEk7LBG4xPhQDwBHa7uW606TxoY_SypY4kGRkk1vr25auY4lOxKDL3bfdsXzk8s2QBFC_9xU6jEwGRmxTNGdImJdhJcLSkS-jhLywEyM1IU_9uBfo8eBOkEBwH9E3sG61S-tjDh2A/s320/F143E6F6-03FF-4672-8B5C-65188C3A7041.jpeg" width="278" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-z8Z85DYPcppTJDCWB7nSwk3zbBUGooq8gOSTrLZmGepY-qNEM_g-eUCjHZraXiZUETzq9SSUPnLv_tc3DxkZZHjCWz8n8Pvff42Q-cS1BTrfKMq7OgMgOfVRURiLyd24hdMTHOp8W1U/s2048/6C93C643-B917-47B9-ACE4-C23207F46902.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"> <img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2047" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-z8Z85DYPcppTJDCWB7nSwk3zbBUGooq8gOSTrLZmGepY-qNEM_g-eUCjHZraXiZUETzq9SSUPnLv_tc3DxkZZHjCWz8n8Pvff42Q-cS1BTrfKMq7OgMgOfVRURiLyd24hdMTHOp8W1U/s320/6C93C643-B917-47B9-ACE4-C23207F46902.jpeg" width="320" /></a> </p><p><br /></p><p>In addition to my socks this week, I was helping my daughter finish a hat she made for her grandmother. In the beginning of the summer we were super excited for a family vacation. So I get why it was going so fast. Unfortunately, due to increasing COVID numbers, we’ve had to cancel the vacation. We are sad, and angry. The whole family has not been together since Christmas 2019. Thankfully, we have all been able to see each other at different times, but it sucks not being able to have everyone together. But, in order to stay safe, this is how it needs to be. I hope these numbers go down quickly! Knitting has been a great stress reliever at this time. My daughter has even started knitting again and has been finishing some projects up. </p><p><br /></p><p>This week I was able to finish my Socks that Rock socks. I did this as part of Knitty Natty’s second sock week knit along.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_9YMCJ0KgccI1Y_WWm1J-8De3IkhSEy5Pi9DDc0nGk_FY9IWwPIN50ZC2rq_4uJ_FToHy6nCfLXgcn2ZSRHR6OzW3HRwH5jdz9PfELugMpkA3j_DdiVNOhCr4ntNxti4onjvgkDwPuuGR/s2048/C4B35296-91BA-409A-83F9-3421650664AF.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_9YMCJ0KgccI1Y_WWm1J-8De3IkhSEy5Pi9DDc0nGk_FY9IWwPIN50ZC2rq_4uJ_FToHy6nCfLXgcn2ZSRHR6OzW3HRwH5jdz9PfELugMpkA3j_DdiVNOhCr4ntNxti4onjvgkDwPuuGR/s320/C4B35296-91BA-409A-83F9-3421650664AF.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>I’ve also worked on all the others :). A sock and a half in a week. I’ve been participating in #sockweek2021. The challenge is to knit or crochet a sock during Shark Week. I cast on Sunday morning and was able to bind of Thursday evening. Friday morning I cast on the second sock. I have until midnight tonight to finish it, but I’m happy completing the one. It’s the fastest I’ve ever knit a sock. But, I didn’t work on anything else this week, lol. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRLJftMKjSTvY8cELT596p8RiO1EeBgtkml83RNPb5TizoDARE517VVwzFuZQhejKbvinUnYgszXfmR6qaUoP67RAeMiXEs7O29iCy2AY17ZDzaUj9xrP2889pNBzXvgDKIstB72gRgNuE/s2048/66A88B70-0D35-40C9-A5F2-E78962989160.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1907" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRLJftMKjSTvY8cELT596p8RiO1EeBgtkml83RNPb5TizoDARE517VVwzFuZQhejKbvinUnYgszXfmR6qaUoP67RAeMiXEs7O29iCy2AY17ZDzaUj9xrP2889pNBzXvgDKIstB72gRgNuE/s320/66A88B70-0D35-40C9-A5F2-E78962989160.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLnRmMei6Whxj-xW-_zW-arJpEQ4JyXtVkXnD1qDlrgBt73dwddt5P4ulVxwlBcO2noDgHOKq0QaYnF_wdXA1inu89qxzWUa_ongBaTYG36dj3kkzOMPOJIYwOC7TKbpHr4LGkFjT4zOQf/s2048/9083F9CE-488E-4093-8E79-62B2D5DE1C31.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLnRmMei6Whxj-xW-_zW-arJpEQ4JyXtVkXnD1qDlrgBt73dwddt5P4ulVxwlBcO2noDgHOKq0QaYnF_wdXA1inu89qxzWUa_ongBaTYG36dj3kkzOMPOJIYwOC7TKbpHr4LGkFjT4zOQf/s320/9083F9CE-488E-4093-8E79-62B2D5DE1C31.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><p>Details on the yarn are limited. I'm being told that is a "false Fall" and Summer weather will soon return. But for now, I will take it, because I get to wear my sweater today!! We found apple cider in the store this week, so part of today's fun is making apple cider donuts. I'm looking forward to a doughnut and hot cider as a treat today!</span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">It has been another slow week crafting wise. The good news is that we are settling into our school groove, so I should be able to get some more crafting time in the near future. I haven't decided on my next project, but I have narrowed it down to two sweaters. I have to swatch for one and then make a decision. The other is an unfinished object from a few years ago. At this point I am either going to finish it or frog it. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">The stocking is almost finished. My goal is to finish it up today. I'll be back later to update with pictures :) my daughter is calling me to go hang out with her and the chicks in the backyard right now.</span></p>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-17630575397676642352020-09-13T07:08:00.002-07:002020-09-13T07:08:27.404-07:00A Year of Progress Week 10<p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;"> And just like that, she missed three weeks. It was nice to spend some time outdoors and get the chance to relax.</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzOxVg4xnewilsWhfLhWsRRSkXuweoV74BG3zDWS5JUJBitv9KsaqvrDNBUqD_bl3laGPUHLK7x9nUVgFcPERDzaEIGyKe-7Ic3tRiykuVpe2q8Y6NE7V92X3MJRpYJ3AjK-ttKK2lMtZv/s2048/1D1CD77E-FC66-4EE5-94BF-7D6BF0818DDE.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzOxVg4xnewilsWhfLhWsRRSkXuweoV74BG3zDWS5JUJBitv9KsaqvrDNBUqD_bl3laGPUHLK7x9nUVgFcPERDzaEIGyKe-7Ic3tRiykuVpe2q8Y6NE7V92X3MJRpYJ3AjK-ttKK2lMtZv/s320/1D1CD77E-FC66-4EE5-94BF-7D6BF0818DDE.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvtWARFYUubQYMEhMcwKJxR2VFSjucWh8j8zT_i-SP87XGpTe67o0Jtuo8xtYlnrs99fGYHzsse3mfsTivy2_VSGZPDnXrT_X_s1Pp_NYVgaV-6XNAxxQMw4cwcm0RcnSUyF1Bx6lotJ2I/s2048/7F7C16E2-097B-435F-879B-705826249B44.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvtWARFYUubQYMEhMcwKJxR2VFSjucWh8j8zT_i-SP87XGpTe67o0Jtuo8xtYlnrs99fGYHzsse3mfsTivy2_VSGZPDnXrT_X_s1Pp_NYVgaV-6XNAxxQMw4cwcm0RcnSUyF1Bx6lotJ2I/s320/7F7C16E2-097B-435F-879B-705826249B44.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI8rGqGEUzezGxL77InRyncDgXz9L2LZNOYb0f0rA8wG9f2vuopkaBuKmiCSFB4EOFSpFwdetegCW-svDHNyvsXSV-DRc4axVzgouzK6g6e5UXChacx-4LM6kwUhaoeAbOwW3eVUZigmaE/s2048/22BC5917-16B7-4F93-99B8-61588941CCFC.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI8rGqGEUzezGxL77InRyncDgXz9L2LZNOYb0f0rA8wG9f2vuopkaBuKmiCSFB4EOFSpFwdetegCW-svDHNyvsXSV-DRc4axVzgouzK6g6e5UXChacx-4LM6kwUhaoeAbOwW3eVUZigmaE/s320/22BC5917-16B7-4F93-99B8-61588941CCFC.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQHQq7nLCo84dDUl8gOoFPhZmowlOuI255phAsVzDq6zNekqEmV9qug-_nkVrX3jwKVsp7XojgzKpRMWtfQkjmAt-V4qpi-k0HiefzSISOt8BNDk1mgAPG9xWhDpxbc9jL0XTRW5lidXRl/s2048/90B0B8AF-3958-4BDE-B88D-14BCB6913095.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQHQq7nLCo84dDUl8gOoFPhZmowlOuI255phAsVzDq6zNekqEmV9qug-_nkVrX3jwKVsp7XojgzKpRMWtfQkjmAt-V4qpi-k0HiefzSISOt8BNDk1mgAPG9xWhDpxbc9jL0XTRW5lidXRl/s320/90B0B8AF-3958-4BDE-B88D-14BCB6913095.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw7cjEc-E3DVB9EqkLdUGIhN8U1oqGSXV7Ijqc4KGIzt93LeK16nJj5arnhKeWsdFsAgDeplbHbI18vStwbSUWXjfWt9YAQmTOd6Hm6GqJ_6arZiq6TGbRL_iGeXDk6CBgIamO7QxLWozM/s2048/BE5062D7-B3CE-4D18-ACC5-C0506A1A3354.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw7cjEc-E3DVB9EqkLdUGIhN8U1oqGSXV7Ijqc4KGIzt93LeK16nJj5arnhKeWsdFsAgDeplbHbI18vStwbSUWXjfWt9YAQmTOd6Hm6GqJ_6arZiq6TGbRL_iGeXDk6CBgIamO7QxLWozM/s320/BE5062D7-B3CE-4D18-ACC5-C0506A1A3354.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium;">While camping I started a stocking for myself. It felt like it flew by! It was not a very productive week as far as crafting. BUT, the boxes are dwindling in the garage and we've got pictures on the wall. And I’ve got a post up on Sunday! <div><br /></div><div>A friend asked if I wanted to participate in Tour de Fleece Part 2. I immediately answered yes as it’s been almost a year since I’ve touched my spinning wheel. (The apartment we were in didn’t really have a good setup for spinning or leaving the wheel out.) I pulled the wheel out this week so I can clear the bobbins. I had two color ways in progress so I wanted to finish them up first. <span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I missed posting yesterday because I was canning all day. The farmer called on Saturday and said she had a box of tomatoes and cucumbers available. The rest of Saturday was spent trying to gather some last minute supplies. It seems with the stay at home orders more people are canning. We had to go to a few stores to get most of what we needed. There has been a run on the salsa mix I'm looking for. A friend recommended freezing the tomatoes as I continue to look for the mix. So I'm going to try that. </span><div><font face="" size="4"><br /></font></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDlbr6Jml3MoGhWbPdmKmckctaiuZbN-WJYehwoExr_-5Hl2M0EhWqbBRZQeItRyAGJ3z4P5rBfBDAKfpCKHzPuScGGdBvkZGNvxr1nnPvmrOgNtqTYsqkLoT8vX_zBwHrFUKhBsapaxHL/s2048/3C47050F-2CA4-442A-8C9A-2F0B2872F1D2.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDlbr6Jml3MoGhWbPdmKmckctaiuZbN-WJYehwoExr_-5Hl2M0EhWqbBRZQeItRyAGJ3z4P5rBfBDAKfpCKHzPuScGGdBvkZGNvxr1nnPvmrOgNtqTYsqkLoT8vX_zBwHrFUKhBsapaxHL/s320/3C47050F-2CA4-442A-8C9A-2F0B2872F1D2.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbiWGCJFKA6crLVcsB7klWXpkRGxaQVTDCbe0ohSUM5gV5IEdg7OvknDr9O9ppI9Tc4VAGLiIGq2dSdU7FzXydhJLz1EZBY_owkI0-0nx_e-YYVBU2qt8p3PmbN7KFYjQIXSXIAarbeytx/s2048/02216253-B23A-4BD9-A76A-503364C1599A.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbiWGCJFKA6crLVcsB7klWXpkRGxaQVTDCbe0ohSUM5gV5IEdg7OvknDr9O9ppI9Tc4VAGLiIGq2dSdU7FzXydhJLz1EZBY_owkI0-0nx_e-YYVBU2qt8p3PmbN7KFYjQIXSXIAarbeytx/s320/02216253-B23A-4BD9-A76A-503364C1599A.jpeg" /></a></div><font face="" size="4"><br /></font><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Yesterday I was able to can kosher dill pickles, relish, zesty salsa, and tomato sauce. Our area was under stay at home orders for quite some time. Much shopping was done online. Even now, our numbers are high, we are still practicing social distancing and only going out when necessary. There are some things that are really hard to buy online or with curbside pickup. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">When we first moved down here I noticed an unfinished furniture store. It was a great find! I've found furniture for the house and projects to keep me busy, lol. Coming soon is a matching end table...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Now for the knitting: I've made some progress on the sock. <span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I've joined the MarlyBird Sock Knit Along on Facebook. Started it yesterday, so right now I've got a toe. My sock yarn and winder are not currently accessible, so I visited the local craft store. Choices were limited at Hobby Lobby, so I ended up with a new to me yarn. It's supersoft, but splits easily, so we'll see how this turns out. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPlZlO_LkkkfIPgKRTnxdzBoIi6TPgLzjZ0XLWJXzdynx869bnERuQS9jgiArcz0OcOhH4nB4VXL5NmnWDrNKJ56JpASTdKn3Woh6XneqNpe0S5HcoubwX7lsbFROzq4YmbzW_7plKlOJL/s2048/0C76970E-DC7C-4AAC-8DCB-B15060A2DB0E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPlZlO_LkkkfIPgKRTnxdzBoIi6TPgLzjZ0XLWJXzdynx869bnERuQS9jgiArcz0OcOhH4nB4VXL5NmnWDrNKJ56JpASTdKn3Woh6XneqNpe0S5HcoubwX7lsbFROzq4YmbzW_7plKlOJL/s320/0C76970E-DC7C-4AAC-8DCB-B15060A2DB0E.jpeg" /></a></div></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Finished a few scrubbies for the kitchen and a baby washcloth to end the week.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik5STIbc1QGCNqfeB4JL3zwwS9KTNrGWASec7JaGHv5e6x8_IWHSHa-RiV5x3T3ytnm2yFeBMdws0Lv_7d8BHq2tNs0CKy-qdB5qCniSQAc5tP_22cz8imyDqblgLIbqH2sIyIVp-N6UVc/s2048/0F560734-6A83-473F-8D19-FE3E788D5039.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEik5STIbc1QGCNqfeB4JL3zwwS9KTNrGWASec7JaGHv5e6x8_IWHSHa-RiV5x3T3ytnm2yFeBMdws0Lv_7d8BHq2tNs0CKy-qdB5qCniSQAc5tP_22cz8imyDqblgLIbqH2sIyIVp-N6UVc/s320/0F560734-6A83-473F-8D19-FE3E788D5039.jpeg" /></a></div></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">That's it for this week. This rings true in so many ways! We closed on our house a month ago and moved in about a week and a half ago. There are boxes ALL over! One of my projects as I unpack is to organize and update my stash in Ravelry. We left New York last August and I got rid of a lot of yarn, so I need to update that. At this point I'm not 100% sure what I have, it will be nice to see it all as it has been in storage for a while.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Crafting time has been pretty nonexistent lately as I have been busy packing. I plan on changing that ASAP. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I've set just a few goals for the first quarter:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1. Get the stash organized and uploaded to Ravelry.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2. Finish spinning current roving.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">3. Knit a pair of Socks. (I'm going to check out the MarlyBird KAL)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4. Finish <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/humulus-2">Humulus</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">5. Find accent yarn and start <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/asheville-2">Asheville</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">6. Continue to work on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/projects/PJ326/xandra-wrap">Xandra</a>, this one will be slow going. I need to focus on this pattern, it is a challenge for me.</span>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-32013212798170643412020-03-19T07:09:00.002-07:002020-03-19T07:11:41.033-07:00Day 4 Homeschool at Home Resources<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Sorry we checked out for Day 3. We took a mental health day. Sleep has never come easy for the two of us. Tuesday night was rough, so yesterday was a very low key day. Gigi did her normal curriculum, then pretty much just chilled for the day. Books were read, pictures were drawn, Adventure Academy was played, and ukulele was practiced. I even got in some knitting time :) It was perfect! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Today, I've got the options laid out for G and we shall see what she chooses. Side note, while core subjects are non-negotiable there is a lot of leeway in how they get done in our house. Some weeks we do social studies and science everyday. Some weeks we do two days of science and two days of social studies. Some weeks we are so into the lesson/subject we do all of the subject in one day. Therefore, our length of "school day" varies. We spend anywhere from two and a half to three hours on our core subjects (reading, writing, math, phonics, science, social studies, spanish, ukulele, art).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">We attend two co-ops weekly, and usually one additional class or program a week. All of that is on hold which is why I am providing additional activities. I'm trying to fill that time. Too much downtime leads to too much thinking/worrying time. We are trying to avoid that right now.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Here's what I know we will be doing:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">First up, a webchat with friends to do an art project. I'm super excited for this one! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Adventure Academy - Gigi is absolutely loving this one. I want to poke around the site a little more, but I'm pretty sure we will be looking into a subscription for this one.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">4pm <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC-V0hThZu8&list=PLobvAUH2kXw4QRRo5ZcAVNzQP8YXouOTl&index=5">Live Uke class.</a> Gigi is really enjoying this class. I'm happy she's getting some instruction, because I am clueless about the ukulele. She just started taking classes this year in one of our co-ops.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">These are some things I've got for G to pick from, should she need suggestions:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">1pm <a href="https://www.facebook.com/McHarperManor">McHarper Manor Chalk Pastel Galaxy</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Betty White's reading of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j0OY3236jw&fbclid=IwAR1t3Vl7B52C7n-QjGg8QLWlhz7SQPvgeDJNItavnStQQgLsX4Yy3zaa_3E">Harry The Dirty Dog.</a></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Baking: <a href="https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/homemade-frosted-brown-sugar-cinnamon-pop-tarts/">Homemade Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Poptarts</a> has been on our list of recipes to try for a while. Tonight we are having soup and salad for dinner. G has picked this recipe to try: <a href="https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/favorite-baked-potato-soup/">Baked Potato Soup</a>. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Since G is still sleeping, I'm thinking today will be another pretty low key day. I'm looking forward to it!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Stay safe and healthy friends!</span>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-79265220614958992052020-03-17T07:42:00.001-07:002020-03-17T07:42:36.239-07:00Day 2: 🍀 St. Patrick’s Day 🍀 at home Here’s our St. Patrick’s Day at home plan:<br />

<br />
<br />
At 1pm <a href="https://www.facebook.com/McHarperManor">McHarper Manor</a> will be making peg dolls during a Facebook Live class. Unfortunately, we do not have the supplies for the project so we will save it for a rainy day.<br />
<br />
At 3pm the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=cincinnati%20zoo">Cincinnati Zoo</a> will be doing another Home Safari. Yesterday we had some downtime at three, so we have not checked them out yet. We shall see what today brings.<br />
<br />
Gigi absolutely loved uke class yesterday, so we will be tuning in for another live class at 4. The link is on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/liveukulele">facebook - liveukulele</a>.<br />

Hope this helps!</div>

But here's the reality: since we've started to homeschool we spend more time on the go than ever before. Now that our classes and activities are not an option this momma needs to supplement what we normally do. </span><br />
<a href="https://www.facebook.com/liveukulele"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></a>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here are some resources I've used this morning. As we explore them I will share our thoughts.</span><br />
<a href="https://www.facebook.com/liveukulele"><br /></a>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1. <a href="http://www.adventureacademy.com/redeem">Adventure Academy</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I've signed up for a free account using free code School7771. I am looking forward to exploring this site with Gigi. I have heard good things about it in the past, but I normally prefer to limit screen time. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">2. <a href="https://www.edhelper.com/teacher-education/Daily-Free-Learning-Workbooks-for-Teachers-to-Share-with-Parents-while-Schools-are-Closed-Kids-will-actually-do-these.htm?fbclid=IwAR1ruSlvYthLzg_E-asqL7odDgX1o8FaqtcbUkXI6lE6iqs3RXxQsH98KWo">Ed Helper</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Edhelper has put together weekly printable books by grade. My girl loves doing puzzles and worksheets so I chose a few that I thought were appropriate for our needs. The sheets fit right in with our St. Patrick's Day theme!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">3. Online classes we will be taking advantage of today:</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">1pm <a href="https://www.facebook.com/McHarperManor">McHarper Manor Online Art Class</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">3pm <a href="https://www.facebook.com/cincinnatizoo">Cincinnati Zoo Home Safari</a> </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">4pm <a href="https://www.facebook.com/liveukulele">Live ukulele class</a></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">These are in addition to our regular homeschool work. I will check in later with some additional activities we are doing. </span>Jenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18231599304411914104noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1261081655406395961.post-15116361233336952642020-03-15T08:28:00.001-07:002020-03-15T08:28:11.263-07:00Welcome!<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The little one and I have been talking about starting a blog for a while now. For those that know us in real life, her screen name is Gigi. Please use that on the blog. Thanks :)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We thought it would be a good way to document our new adventures. We have been in North Carolina for about six months now. We were finally settling into our "new normal": apartment living, new friends, homeschooling, co-ops, classes, working from home, house hunting... The plan was to share about our activities and explorations in our new home state. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Due to current conditions, I thought maybe we should switch gears for a bit. We were able to choose homeschooling (something I have wanted to do since G was school age), therefore I was able to plan for it. I spend my time looking for resources to use on a regular basis. It is something I truly enjoy. Many of you are being thrown in, without ever having the desire to homeschool. Even though we homeschool, much of our time is spent out of the home. We regularly attend co-ops, classes, events and field trips. At this time, our normal activities have been cancelled. So I will be adding some new activities and resources to our daily routine. I will use this space to share what we are doing while practicing "social distancing". I hope it is helpful.</span><br />
